Martin Adams has worked in land issues in some 20 countries in the South Pacific, Middle East, South-east Asia, the Caribbean and East and Southern Africa. Over the period 1995 to 2001, he was an adviser on land reform to the Department of Land Affairs in Pretoria, South Africa. In 2002, he led a team which reviewed the land policy of Botswana. In 2003, he prepared the synthesis and recommendations of a report on land reform in Southern Africa for the UN Department of Political Affairs and worked in Mozambique as a member of the DFID consultancy team which reviewed issues relating to community land delimitation and registration. In 2004 he was technical adviser to the National Land Policy Formulation Process in Kenya and drafted a paper on: 'Land reform, agriculture and poverty reduction' for the Renewable Natural Resources and Agriculture Team, DFID Policy Division (September 2004)
