Mokoro consultants

Principal ConsultantsMokoro consultants benefit from a corporate commitment to quality support and shared professional exchange.

We aim to provide a consulting environment that offers consultants the benefits of sharing a corporate identity and providing a supportive and collegiate atmosphere. We give consultants access to a broad range of professional assignments and aim to provide them with competitive fee rates together with a high level of professional and logistical back-up.

As part of its commitment to quality, Mokoro operates a Quality Support System whereby a consultant with relevant expertise is assigned as Quality Support (QS) to every assignment. The QS can be called on throughout the assignment, to discuss ideas, to support and monitor the progress of the work, and to review all outputs.

Principal Consultants comprise the core of Mokoro’s consultancy experience and undertake as much of their consultancy work as is possible through the company. A first-tier level of Mokoro Consultants are appointed in the expectation they will go on to become Principal Consultants after an initial period usually of one year. In addition we operate a Consultant Development Package (CDP) offering promising consultants starting out on their consultancy careers an opportunity to work with Mokoro full-time, and to build their experience and practice with Mokoro’s professional support.

We are committed to providing adequate opportunities for professional development for our consultants. This includes hosting seminars as well as holding informal meetings of consultants every quarter which include an opportunity to share professional experiences. Mokoro consultants are encouraged and supported to maintain and update their professional knowledge and skills through attending training courses, seminars and study visits.

Associate consultants

Mokoro extends consultancy opportunities to a close network of Associates.

We have a network of Associates who share Mokoro’s approach and have the same commitment to high standards. Our Associates are selected on the basis of personal recommendation, and wherever possible of previous experience from working with an existing Mokoro consultant.

We offer Associates a stimulating, collaborative environment with challenging and rewarding opportunities for international assignments. Close Associates are kept informed of assignment opportunities on a regular basis through a weekly update and regular one-to-one contact. We operate a transparent and competitive fee structure.

We are always interested in identifying new Associates who believe in Mokoro’s high professional standards and principles.

Internship

Mokoro operates an internship providing valuable practical experience of international development consultancy.

We have a long-standing arrangement with Bath University to employ an intern for ten months as part of their international development undergraduate degree course. This has been a very successful scheme that has provided benefits both to the intern and to Mokoro.

Interns gain practical work experience in the industry as well as the opportunity to develop teamwork and interpersonal skills. The intern has a varied programme which includes both administrative work and assignment support to consultants, including data entry, research and analysis. The intern is guaranteed participation in at least one overseas assignment during their tenure.

News of our current and previous interns can be found here.
